An Evening With Dr. King.
He created “An Evening with Dr. King” a self-produced one-man show in tribute to one of his heroes, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. You see, beginning in his college years, people regularly commented on how much he resembled Dr. King in looks, voice, and spirit. He memorized Dr. King’s speeches, studied his voice and mannerisms and began to perform at church and school events. What evolved was utterly unbelievable. Dr. King truly came alive through him. His performance was both mesmerizing and inspirational.
Facing The Serious Questions.
After word got out about his performances, Colonel G was in demand to perform for MLK Day Celebrations and during Black History Month. Though exciting and fun, it began to leave him with an empty feeling. At the end of each performance, Colonel G held a question and answer session. What surprised him is that people didn’t ask historical questions; they asked questions about what to do today on various issues like poverty, violence, racism, empowerment and other topics. It revealed to Colonel G that people were starving for answers to serious questions facing individuals, communities and our nation today.
Colonel G decided to take on this challenge and address these issues head on as a Motivational Speaker. A motivational speaker focused on Empowerment, Leadership and Diversity and Race Relations.
